1. (System) Make sure the OS (Windows 10 or ?) is up to date. This should be handled automatically.
2. (System) Make sure Anit-Virus is turned on and is up to date. If a paid product is being used make sure the contract is current. This should also be automatic for free products and automatic as long as contract is up to date for paid services.
3. (System/Behavior) Make sure connection in Internet is via secured WiFi. If not then be careful what is done.
4. (Behavior) Make sure you have a "secure/https" session with any site that might have financial transactions. Hint: Might want to install the "https everywhere" add on for Chrome and Firefox. Not available for Edge at this time
5. (Behavior) For Banking/Brokerage transations turn on two-factor-authentication (2FA). Normally this involves sending a text message with a one time security code via text via a mobile authentiaction app. Each institution is different.
6. (Behavior) Scan your computer with some other A/V tool like Maleware Bytes monthly or on demand if you suspect anything "suspicious
